Wipro Ltd has won its largest information technology (IT) outsourcing contract from Alight Solutions LLC, valued at $1.6 billion over 10 years. Under the 10-year deal, Wipro will provide a comprehensive suite of solutions and services to the Illinois-based Alight Solutions that provides technology-enabled health, wealth, human resources and finance solutions.
A 10-year partnership with US$ 150 to US$160 million in annual revenue will translate into US$ 1.5 to US$ 1.6 billion over the duration of the contract, more than the $1.1 billion order Wipro won from logistics firm ATCO in June 2014.
Abidali Neemuchwala, Wipro CEO said, “We will leverage this expertise to digitise and modernise Alight’s core across platforms, technologies and operations.” Chris Michalak, CEO, Alight Solutions added in a separate statement, “Our industry-leading partnership with Wipro will enhance our client experience by drawing on Wipro’s leading position in automation and innovation while allowing Alight to invest in its health, wealth and cloud-based solutions to meet the needs of our clients.
Earlier this year in July, Wipro had partnered Alight Solutions to take over the Alight Solutions captive operations in India – Alight HR Services India – for $117 million. In a separate exchange filing today, Wipro said “the transaction has been completed on August 31.
