India’s one of the largest television broadcasting networks, TV18 Broadcast reported a consolidated profit, for the second quarter of the current fiscal, at Rs 40.36 crores against a loss of Rs 14.17 crores that occurred during the previous quarter of current fiscal.
The company returned to profit in the quarter ended September 2018 after at least 4 quarter, on a sequential basis.
Consolidated revenue from operations during the quarter under review stood at Rs 1,198.33 crores, posting a growth of 10.12 per cent sequentially, as compared to Rs 1,088.19 crores of the June-end quarter.
TV18 had reported a profit at Rs 7.33 crores on revenue of Rs 227.23 crores during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. Consolidated EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) surged from Rs. 39.2 crores to Rs. 107.8 crores and margin expanded to 9 per cent from 3.6 per cent Quarter-on-Quarter basis.
The company said in the BSE filing that consequent to Viacom18 Media Private Limited and IndiaCast Media Distribution Private Limited becoming subsidiaries with effect from March 2018, the figures for the current quarter and half year are not comparable with those of the corresponding periods.
