Paytm‘s parent company One97 Communication and Alibaba Group Owned AGTech Holding Limited which is gaming and entertainment company has announced that they have combinedly invested US$ 16 million (Rs. 112 crore) in to their gaming joint venture Gamepind Entertainment Pvt. Limited. Currently AGTech has 45% stake and One97 holds 55% stake of the company.
Gamepind, which is solely available on the Paytm App and offers social and casual games under the categories of cricket, football, arcade and adventure will utilise the money to launch separate games to expand their customer base.
In the statement issued by the company they said that they plan to add more gaming categories such as real money games. Gamepind which was launched in January focuses on Indian audiences who are considering gaming as an entertainment option.
Gamepind is not only an gaming platform but also acts as an marketing tool as it offers various products and coupons for promotional purposes.
