ONGC has received the green panel’s approval to develop 30 wells and other infrastructure in Tripura involving an investment of Rs 758 crore.
A senior Environment Ministry official said that “The Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) of the ministry has given clearance to the ONGC’s Tripura project with some conditions.”
He said further that the panel has specified that the company also should get forest clearance, monitor ambient air quality, control noise from drilling activity, put in place oil spillage mechanism among others.
