On Wednesday, the taxi aggregator firm Ola said that it has inked a pact with the Government of Andhra Pradesh for investing Rs 150 crore and add 40,000 vehicles to its platform over next three years.
According to a company statement the proposed investment will encourage driver entrepreneurship and create employment opportunities in the state.
At present Ola is having over 10,000 vehicles on its platform in Andhra Pradesh.
Chandrababu Naidu, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister said, “Our vision is to create a smart and modern Andhra Pradesh and technology advancement is going to be extremely important to make this possible. Transportation is one of the most important areas where technology can make a big difference.”
