The proposal of Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) for setting up a private industrial estate near Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur district has been approved by the Odisha government.
A meeting was carried out in the presence of Chief Secretary A P Padhi, he gave a green signal to the proposal on March 7. The work has to be completed in the first phase within three years from the date of land allotment, asked Padhi.The industrial estate will be developed in two phases.
Chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) Sanjay Singh said the downstream cluster will manufacture and supply stainless steel products, including construction materials, architectural designs, pipes, industrial goods, lifestyle consumables, kitchen wares, and others. A special purpose vehicle has also been introduced to carry out the work, they said.
Around 300 acres of land will be allotted for the industrial estate which has been identified by IDCO. CPP of JSL and the Nesco grid will take charge to meet the power requirement of 40.58 MW for the proposed estate.
As per the report, 19,000 persons will be provided with employment and the investment for the industrial estate is estimated around Rs 1532 crores. The infrastructural and creation of common facility estimates of about Rs 168 crores investment. JSL will be the anchor investor.
