Commuters in Mumbai will now be able to pick up their Amazon deliveries from four suburban railway stations in India’s financial capital. Amazon has tied up with the Indian Railways for launching the service.
According to the official statement, dedicated delivery kiosks will be set up at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Victoria Terminus), Thane, Dadar and as part of the tie-up.
Customers can select any of the four stations on the checkout page of their order and collect their packages on their way. Amazon will set up kiosks within the stations, providing easy accessibility and better convenience to customers.
The service could turn out to be very popular in a city where several hours are spent daily commuting to the workplace and back home. The exercise will begin as a pilot project and could be expended to more stations in the city and other cities in India.
