Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), the largest car maker in India has launched an all-new version of its hatchback Wagon R in order to strengthen its offering in the compact car segment. The auto manufacturer has priced the hatchback between Rs. 4.19 lakh and Rs. 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The all-new Wagon R comes equipped with two variants of petrol engine, one being 1.2-litre and the other being 1 litre. The 1-litre engine comes mated to a manual as well as automatic gear shift transmission.
The 1-litre manual transmission hatchback is tagged at Rs 4.19 lakh and Rs 4.69 lakh, whereas the automatic variant is priced at Rs. 5.16 lakh. On the other hand, the range for the 1.2-litre variant is set between Rs. 4.89 lakh and Rs. 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The one-litre manual versions of new WagonR are priced at ?4.19 lakh and ?4.69 lakh, while the automated gear shift trim is tagged at ?5.16 lakh. The 1.2-litre variants are priced between ?4.89 lakh and ?5.69 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
MSI Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kenichi Ayukawa stated that the company expects the all-new WagonR to become a preferred choice just not for families but also for young buyers. He also informed that the company has already received 12,000 bookings for the model. The newly launched Wagon R is expected to compete with the likes of Hyundai Santro and Tata Tiago.
