Honda Cars has got the environment approval for a Rs 1,577 crore expansion project at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.
For the purpose of reducing the cost of its products, Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) wants expansion of the production capacity at the Tapukara plant in Alwar district along with indigenisation of various car parts.
Lats month, an expert panel examined the company’s proposal first and based on its recommendations, the environment ministry has given the go-ahead to the expansion project.
The ministry has said in a letter issued to HCIL that the environment clearance has been given subject to the compliance of certain specific and general conditions.
