From September 27, IRCTC will be starting ‘Bharat Darshan’ tourist package which covers places related to Mahatma Gandhi as well as tourist sites in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, a statement from the tourism and catering arm of the Railways said today.
The tour will be of eight nights and nine days and will start from Rewa (MP), covering Indore (Omkareshwar), Ujjain (Mahakaleshwar), Ahmedabad, Dwarka, Porbandar, Somnath and Vadodara (Statue of Unity).
The package tariff will be Rs 8,505 per person for sleeper class and Rs 10,395 per person for 3AC class and will include hall accommodation, pure vegetarian meals, tourist buses for sightseeing and security arrangements, also added in the statement.
Trains Go ‘Silent’ By December To Drop Noisy Power Cars
Meanwhile, on Tuesday another major announcement was made by Indian Railways that trains will go ‘silent’ by December, with the railways deciding to run them on power drawn from an overhead electric supply system, instead of the noisy power cars at either end.
