The GST Council in its meeting scheduled on Saturday, will give approval for rollout of the e-way or electronic-way bill from April 1 and discuss the simplification of tax returns, by simplifying technicalities around tax rebates.
The council will meet in person, as against earlier videoconferencing sessions. The council will also decide whether a modified summary return of all transactions in a month, along with sales invoices, will be enough to file GST returns, as against to filing four returns every month.
Further, the Council will also modify certain rules pertaining to the anti-profiteering mechanism under Goods and Services Tax (GST), giving more flexibility and power to the apex body National Profiteering Authority (NAA) in its final decision making process before penalizing any company for profiteering,
