On Tuesday, the online food ordering platform Foodpanda said that it has aligned with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to allow passengers order food from restaurants during their train journeys.

IRCTC which is a subsidiary of the Indian Railways, handles catering, tourism and online ticketing operations. A pilot of the proposed association will be launched at New Delhi Railway station, said Foodpanda in a statement.

It further added that after Delhi, the services will be extended to more cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Chennai in due course of time.
