Devendra Fadnavis Chief Minister of Maharashtra can easily be described as an organization man who transformed himself to become one of the most popular leaders of Maharashtra at present times. As an earlier prediction, he could well be on the course of becoming the only Chief Minister belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to return to power in the state.
On Thursday, Maharashtra trends show that BJP could script history in Maharashtra by returning to power for a consecutive term. The alliance of BJP Shiv Sena which had come together after the polling for 2014 assembly elections, is albeit with a lesser tally, is inching towards majority in the state.
At the centre of the alliance’s return to power is Fadnavis. At 49, he could be one of the youngest Chief Ministers of Maharashtra to return to power for a consecutive term. Fadnavis had an early exposure to politics when his father Gangadharrao Fadnavis was arrested when former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed emergency in the country.
