Dabur, which a consumer goods firm, has acquired South African cosmetics manufacturing and trading firm Discaria Trading for an undisclosed amount.
It has said in a BSE filing that “The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary Dabur International has acquired 100 percent share capital of Discaria Trading in South Africa. Accordingly, Discaria has become a step-down wholly owned subsidiary company of Dabur India.”
This symbolises Dabur’s entry in the high-potential South Africa market.
Presently, the company has manufacturing in Nigeria and Egypt, that caters to the North and East African markets.
