A senior company executive said that Coal India (CIL) is going to invest Rs 6,000 crore for setting up 1,000 MW of solar power generations capacity over the next five to six years.
“We will fund 70% of the project cost through debt, which will come mostly from banks, while the rest will be through internal resources,” an executive said.
Coal India as a first step, has prepared a detailed project report for setting up 200 MW of solar generation capacity.
