Edutech major Byju’s has acquired Unitus Ventures-backed LabInApp for an undisclosed amount on Thursday. The recent acquisition comes just after a month when it has acquired Indian ed-tech decacorn, WhiteHat Jr.
LabInApp offers a virtual simulation of lab equipment and experiments on mobile without requiring any expensive laboratory setup. The app by providing learning content in the form of 3D/2D interactive simulations helps interactive and immersive learning experience for students.
LabInApp at present has 550 simulations and more under the stages of development. These simulations cover concepts along with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics and are supported by platforms such as Windows, Android, and Web. The content designed is purely based as per the NCERT guidelines and all the major curriculums from Grades 06 to 12.
Pavan Shinde, Co-Founder and CEO of LabInApp, said, “Technology has become the core to most human essentials, with ed-tech topping the chart; especially in the pandemic world. While schools have their set of challenges, students shouldn’t miss out on experiential learning. Keeping this in mind, we have created virtual learning and teaching environment representing science laboratories where teachers can teach practical concepts to students”.
Last month, Byju made its fifth acquisition, by acquiring WhiteHat Jr for $300 million as a cash consideration deal.
