For the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2019, Britannia Industries reported a consolidated net increase in the profit by 11.28 per cent at Rs 294.27 crore on Wednesday.
Britannia Industries in a regulatory filing said that the company in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal had posted a net profit of Rs 263.16 crore.
Commenting on the performance, Britannia Industries Managing Director Varun Berry said, “We continued the momentum in the base business through distribution expansion, heightened innovation and cost-efficiency programmes.” With its goal to become ‘Total Foods Company’, Britannia Industries has launched various new categories.
Further the company added that its total income during the period stood at Rs 2,860.75 against Rs 2,581.93 crore in the year ago. The company said its board of directors has recommended a dividend of 1,500 per cent (Rs 15 per share of face value Re 1 each).
