BHEL has got a major order from Indian Railways for supply of IGBT-based traction converters.
It has said in a statement that “Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged a major order for supply of 118 sets of IGBT based traction converters for 3 phase 6,000 HP electric locomotives.”
It has said that the order, that is valued at Rs 200 crore, has been placed on BHEL by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW).
BHEL’s Electronics Division at Bengaluru will manufacture and supply the traction converters.
