Amazon has put Rs 2,010 crore in its main Indian unit which has been the single largest capital infusion so far.
According to regulatory filings, the latest investment that had been made in November has taken the total capital invested in Amazon Seller Services to over Rs 7,000 crore in the last 12 months.
However, the company has lost over Rs 1,000 crore in discount related offers, aimed to garner more customers, during the festive season in October.
Amazon India Spokesperson has said in a statement that “We will invest what it takes to become the customers’ preferred choice in India, and are encouraged that we are India’s largest and fastest growing ecommerce marketplace.”
