On Friday, the shareholders of Adani Power have approved a plan to raise up to Rs 7,000 crore by issuing equity shares, convertible debentures, bonds or other securities in one or more currencies in various tranches.
Adani Power said in a regulatory filing that the proposal received 3,24,06,17,608 votes in its favour, accounting for 95.65 per cent of the total votes polled. Around 4 per cent of the votes (14,71,39,096) were received against the proposal, it added.
Adani Group is the largest private thermal power producer in India. Adani Power Limited (APL), a power generation capacity of 12,450 MW comprising thermal power plants in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh and a 40 MW solar power project in Gujarat.
