Adani Power has sought approval from the commerce ministry, for setting up of a special economic zone (SEZ) for the power sector in Jharkhand, requiring investment of Rs.15,002 crore.
This application will be considered by the Board of Approval, in its meeting scheduled on February 5. As per the company’s application, the project will create 199 direct employment and 15,000 indirect jobs.
Further, an official stated that, Adani Power has sought in-principal approval for setting up of a sector specific SEZ for power at Godda district in Jharkhand, over an area of 425 hectares.
