According to the statement earlier, neither The Punjab Reorganization Act, 1966 nor BBMB Rules, 1974 defined the eligibility criteria. They required qualification or appropriate experience for appointment to Members in BBMB. It said that the rules would help establish the suitableness of the candidate for the appointment of Members. BBMB is committed to regulating the supply of water and electricity from Bhakra Nangal and Beas Projects in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Chandigarh. BBMB is a statutory body formed under Section 79 and 80 of The Punjab Re-Organisation Act, 1966.
