Also, Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has extended support for Jagdeep Dhankhar in vice-presidential polls.

PM Modi had called Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for support to Dhankhar. In 2019, Jagdeep was appointed as the Governor of West Bengal.

Union Minister Margaret Alva has been named a Joint candidate for a vice presidential election. On Tuesday, Alva will file her nomination. On August 6, 2022, sixteen vice president election has announced by Election Commission.
