Microsoft is changing its working on Teams Rooms subscription plans, introducing innovative Teams Rooms Pro and Teams Rooms Basic plans for users. These new and innovative plans substitute the existing Teams Rooms Standard and Teams Rooms Premium as they come up with different price themes and topographies. Teams Rooms Basic has become a free license for anyone who buys a Teams Rooms device, especially for startup firms.
Beforehand, the service with Teams Rooms Standard would cost $15 per device monthly, so introducing a free tier is welcome. Nevertheless, this free tier has downsides as some previously supported features are no longer available. Consider that the Teams Basic Plan doesn’t include Microsoft Intune management and Azure Active Directory Premium Plan 1.
Besides, features of intelligent capture that allow Teams to capture a physical whiteboard to share in a meeting aren’t available, but advanced management features are earmarked for Teams Room Pro. Also, 25 devices can be recorded with a Teams Rooms Basic license under the same tenant.
Teams Rooms Pro includes smart captures and features like joining a meeting across Teams clouds, precise meeting drafts like the front row, together mode, the large gallery sight, dual-screen support, and provision for chat-Loop components. Smart features enhance intelligent speaker documentation for live records, camera support for multiple video streams, etc.
The security, safety and management features specify Microsoft Endpoint Manager, remote settings alignment, device history, app updates, and AI-powered remediation. Teams Rooms Pro plans are available at $40 per device per month, while the Teams Rooms Premium plan costs around $50 per device monthly. These changes in the pricing structure may attract or even force some users to upgrade and spend knowingly more.
