On Friday, Microsoft India announced that it has partnered with ICT Academy to launch a cybersecurity skilling programme for educators and higher education students.
The programme’s first year will be for students from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Assam, Uttarakhand, Delhi-NCR, and Rajasthan Rural Engineering College. Students provide skills for teachers and higher education students.
“As part of its ongoing commitment to creating a strong cybersecurity ecosystem in the country, Microsoft India today announced the launch of the CyberShikshaa programme for educators in partnership with the ICT Academy,” the company said in a statement.
The program’s first phase will equip 400 faculty members at 100 rural institutions in India with industry-relevant cybersecurity skills, giving them the tools to train students.
With well-trained teachers and ICT facilitators, the program will further train 6,000 rural engineering students to prepare them for careers in cybersecurity.
“In addition, Microsoft and the ICT Academy will work with a strategic alliance of partners to provide employment and internship opportunities to more than 1,500 students,” the statement said.
