Microsoft Corp said on Thursday it would provide Ukraine with free technical support until 2023 as the Russian invasion drags on.
Microsoft said it would provide nearly $100 million in additional technical assistance, bringing its total support for Ukraine to more than $400 million since the crisis began in February.
Microsoft President Brad Smith wrote in a blog post that the company’s support “will ensure that Ukrainian government agencies, critical infrastructure and other sectors can continue to operate their digital infrastructure and serve citizens through the Microsoft Cloud.”
Ukraine has also been the target of multiple Russian cyberattacks since the conflict began in late February, according to Western security researchers and senior government officials.
Several companies in Europe and North America have mobilised to provide aid to the Ukrainian authorities and people.
In early June, Microsoft also said it would cut its operations in Russia and add it to a list of companies reducing risk exposure or pulling out of the country in response to the intrusion.
Russian troops swept across Ukraine in February in what Moscow called a “special military operation” to eliminate dangerous nationalists and protect Russian speakers. Kyiv called Moscow’s military action an unprovoked imperialist land grab.
