Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced a partnership with India AI at the AI Tour in New Delhi to boost AI adoption and inclusive growth.
The collaboration will establish an AI Center of Excellence, ‘AI Catalysts,’ to support 1 lakh AI innovators through hackathons, community initiatives, and an AI marketplace.
AI Productivity Labs will be set up in 20 NSTIs and NIELIT centres across 10 states to train 20,000 educators in AI courses.
The partnership aims to create AI solutions for healthcare, education, agriculture, and accessibility while enhancing Indic language models. Microsoft will help AI startups via its Founders Hub program, providing technology, mentorship, and resources.
AI adoption in India is growing, with 72% of organizations using AI in 2024, up from 63% in 2023. India currently has 4 lakh AI engineers, but the demand is expected to reach 1 million by 2026.
