Meta Platforms is starting to test commerce tools for selling digital assets within its virtual reality social platform Horizon Worlds as a part of its plan to expand the metaverse, the company said in a statement.
The tools will initially be offered to selected users of the company’s immersive platform, which is accessible via VR headsets, and allow them to sell virtual fashion accessories or offer paid access to areas of a digital world to other users, it added.
Meta is also testing a “creator bonus” programme for selected Horizon Worlds users in the United States, in which it would pay the participants for meeting goals like adopting new tools or features that the company launches.
