Maruti Suzuki India on 1 November announced its highest-ever monthly sales numbers for October at 1,99,217 units, marking a 19% year-on-year growth against 1,67,520 units sold in the same month last year.
The company also recorded the best-ever domestic monthly sales at 1,77,266 units, which is a 21% increase from 1,47,072 units sold in the year-ago period.
Segment-wise sales numbers
1. Mini Segment Cars:
The mini segment cars comprise S-Presso and Alto, which saw a steep decline to 14,568 units during the month of October against 24,936 units sold in the same month during the previous year.
2. Compact Segment Cars:
The compact segment vehicles comprise Dzire, Swift, Baleno, Tour S, WagonR, Ignis, and Celerio, which saw an increase in sales to 80,662 units during the period from 73,685 units recorded in the year-ago period.
3. Utility Vehicles Segment:
The utility vehicles segment, consisting of XL6, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, and Brezza, recorded a stellar growth of 91% to 59,147 units during the month against 30,971 units reported in the same month last year.
The company said that its exports during the month increased to 21,951 units from 20,448 units sold in October 2022.
