Mansukh Mandaviya: Modi Regime Created 5 Times More Jobs Than UPA

Graduate employability improved from 33.95% in 2013 to 54.81% in 2024.

Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya states that the government created nearly five times more jobs in the past decade than during the UPA era, according to data from the RBI and EPFO.

Mansukh Mandaviya highlights that from 2004 to 2014, the UPA government created 2.9 crore jobs, while the Modi government created 17.19 crore jobs from 2014 to 2024.

In 2023-24 alone, 4.6 crore new jobs were generated under the current government.

Employment growth under the UPA was 6%, while under the Modi government, it surged 36% over 10 years.

The agriculture sector saw a 19% increase in jobs from 2014-2023, reversing a 16% decline under the UPA.

Manufacturing employment grew by 15% over the last decade, compared to just 6% under the UPA.

The services sector grew by 36% from 2014-2023, surpassing the 25% growth from 2004-2014.

India’s unemployment rate dropped from 6% in 2017-18 to 3.2% in 2023-24.

Youth employment rose from 31.4% in 2017-18 to 41.7% in 2023-24, with over 4.7 crore young people joining the formal job market between 2017 and 2024.
