Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the Maha Kumbh is expected to boost the state’s economy by over Rs 3 lakh crore.
During the Question Hour of the budget session, he linked UP’s economic growth to the Maha Kumbh Mela. He highlighted the state’s progress towards the $1 trillion economy goal while responding to SP MLA Ragini Sonkar.
Taking a dig at Sonkar, he criticised those who doubt India’s development, emphasising that the country is on track to become a $5 trillion economy by 2027.
He also noted that India remains the fastest-growing large economy, urging 140 crore Indians to take pride in this progress.
The chief minister added that the government has had a structured action plan since 2022, focusing on 10 key sectors monitored by senior officials to achieve the $1 trillion target.
