On Monday, infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said it had received another major contract order for the Chennai Metro Rail Project. The value of major orders ranges from Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore, depending on the company’s project classification.
“L&T Construction has been awarded another major contract for the Chennai Metro Project (CMRL),” L&T said in a statement. The scope of the order includes the construction of an elevated viaduct approximately 10 km long, including an elevated ramp and ten elevated subway stations. Nehru Nagar, Kandanchavadi, Perungudi, Thoraipakkam, Mettukuppam, PTC Colony, Okkiyampet, Karapakkam, Okkiyam Thoraipakkam and Sholinganallur.
This elevated subway package will be built in 35 months. L&T has executed four packages for the second phase of the CMRL, one underground package and three elevated packages.
