On Monday, engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said it had secured a significant irrigation project from the Jharkhand government. The project envisages irrigating 22,283 hectares of the Cultivated Command Area (CCA) in the Dumka district of Jharkhand by pumping water from the Sidheshwari River. The scope includes the survey, design and construction of cross-river barrages.
“L&T Construction’s water and wastewater treatment business has been awarded a repeat EPC order from the Jharkhand Government Water Department to execute the Masalia Ranishwar Megalift irrigation scheme on a turnkey basis,” the company said in a statement. Garhwa District, Khanda State A similar booster irrigation project was implemented.

According to the company, contracts worth Rs 1,000-2,500 crore are significant orders. L&T is an Indian multinational company engaged in engineering, procurement and construction projects.
