Larsen and Toubro Creates a Separate Vertical for Renewable EPC Business

L&T is already a leading player globally with a vast portfolio of 22 GWp of renewable EPC experience.

Larsen and Toubro Ltd. announced on 2 September that it has created a separate business vertical for renewable EPC from its tower transmission and distribution (T&D) business within its infrastructure projects segment.

In a recent stock exchange filing, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) emphasised the growing momentum in India’s efforts to promote renewable energy, particularly in increasing the share of non-fossil fuel-based electricity. The company highlighted that India views the creation of green jobs and the growth of renewable energy as essential components in achieving the vision of a developed nation (“Viksit Bharat”) and ensuring equitable climate justice on a global scale.

The company added, “Renewable energy implementing agencies have chalked out clear capacity addition trajectories and several schemes including green energy corridors are being implemented.”

The company further mentioned that the Middle East is particularly well-suited for solar energy generation. Additionally, it noted that significant investments are emerging in nearby regions, including SAARC, ASEAN, CIS, and African countries, making them promising areas for solar energy development and related infrastructure projects.

The company said, “L&T is already a leading player globally with a vast portfolio of 22 GWp of renewable EPC experience. In addition to Ground Mounted Solar, Floating Solar and Wind Balance of Plant projects further, L&T’s Battery Energy Storage System implementation aggregates to 3GWh. Combined with L&T’s Grid and Digital Energy Solutions related offerings, this business has earned a reputation for timely and safe construction of giga scale renewable projects.”

The company is involved in some of the world’s largest single-site renewable energy parks and plays a crucial role in significant renewable projects across regions like Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Jeddah, India, and others.

In line with this focus, the company has established a renewables EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) business as part of its construction verticals. This move aims to improve management visibility and ensure the seamless integration of resources and capabilities for its renewable energy projects.
