Jupiter Wagons Arm Gets ARAI Approval to Manufacture Battery-Operated LCV

This acquisition marks a significant advancement in JEM's mission to revolutionise the electric mobility landscape.

Jupiter Electric Mobility Private Limited (JEM), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons, has received approval from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) to start manufacturing battery-operated light commercial vehicles (LCVs). On May 31, the company reported this development to stock exchanges.

The light commercial vehicle that operates on batteries will be manufactured under the JEM TEZ brand.

Vivek Lohia, managing director of Jupiter Wagons, said,, “We see a huge potential for the EV business in India, considering the rapid growth we are all witnessing across sectors. Given the cost benefits of EVs and their sustainable approach, EVs will eventually take over the ICE market.”

JEM TEZ, which has integrated charging stations and can charge a car from empty to 100% in just twenty minutes, achieves the fastest charging time.

With its built-in charger, the car can be fully charged in under two hours.

JEM plans to launch the world’s first one-ton commercial electric vehicle (EV). The JEM TEZ, which comes with telematics, will monitor the state and operation of every EV.

Gaurav Jalota, Chief Executive Officer of JEM, said, “With the JEM TEZ, we are setting new benchmarks in the commercial EV segment. Our focus has been on delivering a product that meets the highest standards of quality and performance and supports the nation’s goals of reducing pollution and emissions.”

Jalota said that they are excited to take charge of transforming India’s transportation landscape and aim to lead the way for cleaner and greener mobility solutions.
