Domestic steel giant JSW Steel reported crude steel production of 1.667 million tonnes in April 2022, up 22% from 1.371 million tonnes in April 2021, while flat steel production rose 25% year-on-year to 1.2 million tonnes.
The company’s extended product production rose 5% to 354,000 lakh tonnes from 337,000 t in April 2021. JSW Steel also said it had started receiving renewable energy power for the Vijaynagar plant in April under a long-term PPA signed with JSW Energy.
In its filing to the BSE, JSW Steel said the roadmap for the next growth phase includes a target of 37.5 MTPA of steel production capacity by FY25. JSW Steel traded at Rs 667 on the NSE at 10.18 am, down Rs 10.90 or 1.61%.
