Jet Airways and Air France KLM has entered into partnership, to increase flights from the Indian subcontinent to Europe and then onwards to the United States.
Chairman of both companies at a press conference in Mumbai today, have announced enhanced cooperation agreement.
Under the agreement, which is refereed to as the joint venture, the airlines will share passenger traffic revenues on the India-Amsterdam and India-Paris routes, however, the cargo revenue will not be shared.
Further, this joint venture follows the principle of metal neutrality, which means revenue or profit is shared on a pre-determined basis on select routes and it does not matter which airline flies a passenger.
Moreover, this an exclusive agreement and both parties are restricted from entering into similar such agreements with other carriers on the joint venture routes.
