External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will visit the UAE from 27th to 29th January 2025 to enhance bilateral ties and advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
He will meet UAE leaders during the visit to discuss collaboration across sectors. He will deliver the keynote address at the Raisina Middle East forum in Abu Dhabi, a key platform for regional political dialogue.
India and the UAE have shared strong diplomatic ties since 1972, strengthened by high-level visits such as PM Narendra Modi’s historic visit 2015 and his participation in the COP28 Summit in Dubai in 2023.
The Indian diaspora, comprising 3.5 million people (35% of the UAE’s population), plays a vital role in the UAE’s economic and social fabric. Once predominantly blue-collared workers, Indian expatriates now include professionals and entrepreneurs, contributing significantly to the UAE’s growth and cultural landscape.
Indian community associations are actively involved in welfare and cultural initiatives, with notable contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic and recognition through awards like the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman and Padma awards.
Jaishankar’s visit is expected to add fresh momentum to the India-UAE relationship, further strengthening partnerships in political and economic spheres.
