Between 1st April to 8th October 2022, the total earnings of Indian Railways on an originating basis was Rs 33476 crore, which registered an increase of 92 per cent as compared with Rs 17394 crore achieved in 2021 between the same months.
Also, the total approximate number of passengers booked during the same period is 42.89 crore compared with 34.56 crore in 2021, which shows an increase of 24 per cent in the reserved passenger segment. Moreover, the revenue generated from the reserved passenger segment is Rs 26961 crore as against Rs 16307 crore in 2021, showing an increase of 65 per cent.
Between 1st April and 8th October 2022, it generated Rs 268.56 crore compared with 90.57 crore in the last year, which shows an increase of 197 per cent in the unreserved passenger segment. And revenue generated from unreserved passenger segments in the same period is Rs 6515 crore as compared with Rs 1086 crore from 1st April to 8th October of 2021, which shows an increase of 500 per cent.
