The Indian Army is planning to use 5G services to enhance communications services for frontline troops, which are crucial in tactical battlefield areas, the Ministry of Defense said on Saturday. The Army was the lead service in a recent joint service study on the military’s implementation of 5G, they said.
They noted that the study has been completed and the three services, the Army, Navy and Air Force, are working on its recommendations. The Indian Army will use 5G to support operations in tactical battlefield areas, they said.
They added that 5G’s high bandwidth and low latency are better suited for critical communications services for frontline troops.
