Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that India plans to produce 5 billion doses of Covid-19 vaccines by next year and keep contributing to making the world a safer place to live in. India has restarted the supply of Covid-19 vaccines to other countries. It had stopped the export of vaccines in April to vaccinate its population after a sudden spike in coronavirus infections.
Speaking at the CII Partnership Summit 2021, Piyush Goyal said that “We have been exporting in the past, and we continue to export and offer to all the countries that we are ready to supply as many vaccines as other countries need at affordable prices. He also said that the country will produce 5 billion doses of the vaccines.”
Goyal also said that the country has been working with other nations to help them with medical supplies and equipment and thanked them for supporting India. India will soon be celebrating 75 years of independence ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and taking the G20 presidency in 2023. “In both of these important events, we want to promote partnerships, camaraderie amongst nations, fair trade and democratic institutions,” he added.
