India and the United States is willing to expand the economic partnership, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Wednesday. He also requested for setting a bilateral trade target of $1 trillion in the upcoming ten years. Addressing the 4th Annual Leadership Summit of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), Piyush said that even after negotiating a trade pact between the two countries, unfortunately, it did not work out.
“I think India and the US should try to balance mutual trade of a trillion-dollar in the next ten years, and I am happy to engage with the US and looking to expand our economic partnership so that the Quad leaders will have strong economic ties with each other,” he said at the summit.
