Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on April 20 that India would introduce a particular AYUSH visa category for foreign nationals who want to come to India to seek traditional medical treatments. Prime Minister Narendra Modi added that India would soon introduce the AYUSH logo to identify traditional medicinal products.

Modi spoke after the opening of the three-day global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit in Mahatma Mandir, Gujarat, which was attended by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth of Mauritius and WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine was held in Jamnagar on 19 April. According to the official statement, the centre will become an international centre for global health, pushing the world’s traditional medicine system to new heights. It also added that it would also assist WHO member states to spread positive health across the globe.
