Idea Cellular has proposed a new name for the combined entity after its merger with Vodafone India, as Vodafone Idea Ltd.

In a regulatory filing the company stated, “… consent of the members be and is hereby accorded for change of name of the company from “Idea Cellular Limited” to “Vodafone Idea Limited.” The extra ordinary general meeting (EGM) of the company is scheduled to be held on June 26, to decide the change in the name of the company.

Further, the EGM will also discuss raising of Rs.15,000 crore fund by the company through NCDs.
