The second largest two-wheeler seller of the country, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), is going to invest Rs 1,600 crore this year to set up a new production line as well as launch four new products.
The company targets at least 6 million units in sales during this year including 5.7 million in India.
Honda has been adding 600,000 units to annual capacity at its third plant in Karnataka taking the plant’s total capacity to 2.4 million and the nation-wide total capacity to 6.4 million. Thus, the Karnataka plant will be having 4 production lines that will take the total number of production lines to 12. The new line is going to be operational in July.
