Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India (HMSI) has been planning to launch an electric two wheeler in India.
Shinji Aoyama, chief officer, regional operations (Asia & Oceania), Honda Motor Co. said that “Needless to say we have to participate (in electric vehicles plan). If we don’t, we will lose. We have to do it definitely.”
The company has been working on an electric vehicle (EV) and aims to soon launch one model globally, followed by a rollout in India.
Aoyama said that “Honda does no have any product in the EV. We are doing product development in EV for sure. We will launch an EV Honda in the global markets soon and in India the launch date will not be very far from today. We recognise what we have to do.”
