Hitachi Energy Secures Rs 1.6 Crore Order

Hitachi Energy India said it had won an order worth around Rs 1.6 crore from MP Power Transmission Package-II to modernise the Madhya Pradesh (MP) power grid. The project involves strengthening the transmission system in rural Madhya Pradesh and increasing the capacity and reliability of the electricity infrastructure in the region.

The order for nine grid connections will strengthen the power transmission network spanning more than 1,000 kilometres of overhead lines across nine rural areas in Madhya Pradesh. The state has stepped up efforts to reach its 12-gigawatt renewable generation target by 2025 through utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid installations, and rooftop solar.

N Venu, the Managing Director, and CEO, of Hitachi Energy India, said: “As more and more people are connected to the grid, electricity will become the backbone of the entire energy system, driven by a higher share of renewable energy. Reliable transmission and digitising the power grid ensure a sustainable energy future.

Hitachi Energy is a leading global provider of grid connectivity and power quality solutions, with an installed base of more than 10,000 projects worldwide, more than 800 of which connect renewable energy to the grid. In India, Hitachi Energy operates under the legal entity name Hitachi Energy India (formerly ABB Power Products and Systems India).

Net sales rose 6.71% to Rs 1,094.54 crore in the fourth quarter of December 2021 compared to the fourth quarter of December 2020, and the company’s net profit rose 12.19 per cent to Rs 61.66 crore. Shares fell 0.13 per cent and are now trading at Rs 3,300 on the BSE.
