In the July-September quarter, Vedanta group company Hindustan Zinc’s mined metal output increased by 3 per cent to 2,55,000 tonnes on the back of better grades and improved mill recoveries.
Hindustan Zinc’s mined metal production stood at 2,48,000 tonnes in the same period year ago. The refined metal production at 2,46,000 tonnes was 18 per cent higher on account of better mined metal availability and improved smelter performance among others.
For the second quarter of the current fiscal, the wind power generation was down by about 20 per cent at 124 million units (MU) because of lower wind velocity and seasonality impact. Hindustan Zinc is India’s only integrated producer of lead, zinc, and silver.
Founded in 1966, HZL (Hindustan Zinc Limited) is an Indian integrated mining and resources producer of zinc, silver, lead, and cadmium. Headquartered in Udaipur, it was earlier a Central Public Sector Undertaking, sold by Government of India to Vedanta Limited.
