India’s largest private sector bank, HDFC Bank, has started a new first all-women branch in Kozhikode in the North Kerala region. The new branch is located at Cherooty Road, the hub trader in District having four women bankers. As per the statement, all women’s branches are opened by the Banks in southern India and take forward the inherent values of the bank for diversity and inclusion.

On 17 August 2022, this new branch was inaugurated by Mayor Beena Philip, who is part of the city Corporation. He said that the bank has plans to drive inclusion within the organization with a special focus on enhancing gender diversity. Also, the target of HDFC Bank till the end of the year as on 31 March 2022 for women workforce increases from 21.7 per cent to 25 per cent by 2025, as stated by the Bank.
Sanjeev Kumar, Branch Banking Head, South (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Kerala), said, “the opening of the all-women branch is yet another example of their efforts to take forward gender and diversity initiatives of the bank.”
