The government on Friday is expected to take up for consideration and passage of Constitution Amendment bill in the Lok Sabha to roll out the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
The government with the most states on Board, will try to get the bill passed by Monday.
The GST bill that the government proposes to roll out is new indirect tax regime which will include various levies including sales tax, excise, service tax from April 1, 2016.
As soon as the Constitution Amendment bill is approved by the Parliament by two-third majority it will have to be sanctioned by half of the states.
